Our Solutions: Turning Waste into Opportunity
With over 140 billion tons of biomass produced annually worldwide and India generating 500 million tons of agricultural waste each year, nature provides an abundant yet underutilized resource. Meanwhile, plastic waste has reached alarming levels, with India producing over 3.5 million tons annually, polluting ecosystems and threatening biodiversity. At The Green Republic, we see this not as a crisis, but as an opportunity—an opportunity to reshape industries, reduce dependence on fossil fuels, and create sustainable alternatives.
1. Alternative Sustainable Energy
We convert biomass like invasive species like water hyacinth, agro waste & raw organic waste into clean fuels such as hydro char - lignin-based sulphurless coal substitute, coke and sustainable waterless green hydrogen solution offering a viable solution to fossil fuel dependency. Our biomass analysis, chemical treatment to breakdown biomass into its basic components and catalytic pyrolysis technologies unlock the energy potential of agro-waste, making renewable energy more accessible and efficient. Apart from biomass, we are developing a THERMO CATALYTIC CRACKING application to convert singe use plastics into lighter petroleum fuels like Petrol, Diesel & LPG.
2. Chemicals & Feedstock
By refining biomass-derived compounds, we create bio-based chemicals, solvents and platform molecules like formic acid, furfural and cellulose derivatives. These serve as feedstock for industries looking to transition away from petroleum-based raw materials, supporting a circular economy.
3. Alternative Materials
Our work extends beyond energy and chemicals. We are pioneering mycelium-based packaging, cellulose fibers and biodegradable composites to replace single-use plastics and synthetic materials. By repurposing agricultural residues and lignin, we develop eco-friendly solutions for packaging, insulation, and construction materials.
With science, innovation and a commitment to sustainability, we are finding new pathways to turn waste into value, ensuring that every discarded resource contributes to a cleaner, greener, and more self-reliant future.

Industrial Chemicals from Biomass: Sustainable Solutions for a Greener Future
Key Chemicals Synthesized from Biomass:
Poly Anionic Cellulose (PAC):
Description: PAC is a water-soluble polymer derived from cellulose and is extensively used in the oil and gas industry for drilling fluids.
Applications:
Controls fluid loss in drilling operations.
Acts as a stabilizer in industrial processes.
Used in food-grade formulations.
Sustainability Impact: Biomass-derived PAC reduces dependency on synthetic chemicals, offering a biodegradable and eco-friendly alternative.
Cellulose Acetate:
Description: This chemical is derived from cellulose and is known for its versatility as a thermoplastic polymer.
Applications:
Textiles: Production of fibers for clothing and upholstery.
Plastics: Used in making bioplastics for packaging.
Filtration: Ideal for cigarette filters and water filtration membranes.
Sustainability Impact: By utilizing renewable cellulose, we help reduce the reliance on fossil fuel-based polymers.
Formic Acid:
Description: Formic acid is a highly efficient and green chemical synthesized from biomass-derived feedstocks.
Applications:
Fuel Cells: Acts as a hydrogen carrier for green energy applications.
Textile and Leather Processing: Used in dyeing, tanning, and finishing.
Steel Plants: Aids in cleaning and rust removal.
Sustainability Impact: Our formic acid is produced from plant-based biomass using in-house developed reactors, ensuring eco-friendly production without relying on petroleum sources.
